CREDIT CARD SCAM.....says they are calling to lower credit card intrest but when is asked for what card they say your chase when asked for the # on the card they are refering to they can only give me first four i asked for the last four and they cant tell me
It's a credit offer of some kind; they say that there is no problem with your credit card currently, but that this is your last chance to get reduced rates... or something like that. As always, they tell you to press "2" to be removed from their calling list, but that doesn't do anything. Sadly, my congressman is a member of the party that doesn't think government should help, so I won't even bother with the FCC. I'm adding this number to my blocked number list. (I can have as many as 10.)
The Caller ID number is probably a fake; there is a device that lets you enter any Caller ID info you'd like, and slime telemarketers like this use that trick.
I just thought of this after I posted... Why don't we just press "1" to talk to the rep and then sign up for whatever it is that they're offering, but with phony information? If enough people did this it would drive them out of business, or at least create problems for them.
I have reported this number to the FCC several times. They called me again today - probably the fifth time at least. The man said and your balance is $3000 dollars and I said, I don't even have a card with that high of a limit. He hung up! DON'T talk to these people. REPORT THEM TO THE FCC UNTIL THIS NUMBER IS SHUT DOWN. That is all you can do!
