Trying to have a productive day at home and it is impossible. This was third nonsense call today. Recording about lowering interest rates. For a change I pushed 1 to get to a person. When I asked for her name, she hung up.
These people are not a charity and are supposed to respect "no call" lists.
Caller ID said Procedures, but person said Credit Services.
I have received several calls from this number about lowering my credit card interest rate.
I have pressed 1 more than once to speak to someone--- to ask to be on their do not call list.
I have also tried as some others suggested to just 'play' along and give phony info to stop this
madness.
Today, I just tried the direct approach again; asking to not be called again.
I could not even understand the 'operator'--- she did not speak the English of the U.S. A.
She kept asking for my credit card number; I refused and continued to ask to be on the no call list.
After a couple of rounds of this, she hung up on me.
There has to be a way to stop this?
I pressed 2, got a guy who said it was "Visa", I asked to be put on the DO NOT CALL, and he said he didn't know about that and started trying to sell me credit, I said he is required by law to comply with my request, he didn't care and hung up on me.
Obviously it's a scam, but I'm worried about the little old ladies (and men) out there who can't hear too well and think their finances are in trouble and end up divulging personal financial info and getting swindled by these scum
I got a call today at 9:45 am. from 406-224-9078. I don't answer the phone, if somebody wants to talk to me they can live a message and first, I check my caller ID TO SEE who is calling. They didn't leave a message and the ID SAYS this call was from Montana. I don't know anybody there, so, IT'S A SCAM.
Yesterday 8-3-2011 they called on my cell phone from this # 207-493-2639. I google the # and I
found it's a scam # too.
Tuesday 8-2-2011 the # 800-847-2911 called me in the afternoon. I answered this call and press
a number to talk to a rep. in Spanish. I told him to stop calling or I would report the # to FCC.
He game a fake speech that sounded he was reading it in front of him. I also asked his name, he said was Frank, I asked his last name. He said, NO LAST NAMES.
I also called back the same 800-847-2911 and press to talk to a rep in English. She said her name
was Kelsey, something like that. When I told her to stop calling my # she gave another fake speech
going in circles. When I asked her if they were Visa (because they said that on a recorded info.)
she said something like they were not affiliated with them but they do bussiness by themselves,
something like that. SO, IT'S A BIG SCAM.
Now I am thinking if all these #'s are AFFILIATED OR LINKED BETWEEN THEM. So, people,
this is a BIG, BIG SCAM OPERATION ACROSS THE COUNTRY. We need to stop them NOW.
