Same here just got a text from someone named Steve who wrote the same things as above.....i won't deal with paypal, checks or wires ....only cashiers check or cash....too many scams out there.
Posted my impala on cars.com and got a text from this number, asking if my "vehicle" was still available. I said yes, and got the response of "what is the condition and price/are you the first owner?" When I said it sounded like a scam, he replied with, "You sound like a fraud.. You can't even explain the condition of your vehicle". What a B***h.
I received several texts from this guy. First, he asked if it was available, then condition, then said he wanted to buy and asked if I had a PayPal. Complete scam and I am reporting to the FBI.
I had the exact same incident happen to me also claiming it was sgt Vincent Greg and requesting my name, email and paypal info. To me it seems like a scam
Same thing happened to me! I sold a trailer on eBay and found out the hard way about their 20% commission. Then I tried selling my Beetle on eBay with the 20% commission included in the price and no one would bid on it. After the auction ended this guy texts me the same story as everyone else. I only gave him my PayPal info but then he wanted the address where the Beetle is parked. I said, "I'll give that after he pays." His one word response was, "No."
Um ....
It is apparent you need to educate yourself.
There is NO flat 20% fee for selling something on ebay motors.

Also, one should NOT use PayPal when selling something that will be picked up ... without recognized delivery confirmation, the seller can and will lose any "item not received" case.
