Portfolio Recovery. They call me from numbers in Pittsburgh, Richmond, Nebraska, Iowa, Florida, And tons of other 800, 866 and 877 numbers. I will let my phone ring until it blows up. There is no way I will EVER answer. I just totally ignore it.
THEY CALL CONTSANTLY AT DIFFERENT HOURS AND CALL FROM VARIOUS PHONE NUMBERS, ALL OF WHICH BELONG TO "PORT-FOOL-YO" RECOVERY A COLLECTION AGENCY. I DON'T OWE ANYBODY ANYTHING. THESE PEOPLE ARE REAL SCUM BAGS. WHEN THEY CALL GIVE THEM A GOOD EAR FOR OF HARD ALTERNATIVE ROCK AND REPORTTHEM TO THE FTC.
It is actually www.annualcreditreport.com that gives consumers a free report from all three credit bureaus once per year. The "freecreditreport" one listed above is not really free, because you must give your cc info and if you do not cancel they will charge you 12.99 or 14.99 a month after. Also, none of those will give you your FICO score for free. However, I get mine for free every month at www.creditkarma.com where they give consumers a free report and free updates each month, which shows all of your debt plus your credit score. They don't say which bureau they get their info from, but the info is correct.
To dispute anything on your report, when you view the reports there is an option to dispute entries. You must dispute them with all of the credit agencies, not just one, because if one removes an entry the entry will still remain on the other agency's report if not disputed. Good luck!
