These people are so freaking annoying they call at least twice a day from a million different numbers. I don't have any debt and I'm not sure if someone put my number down on something but I told them they have the wrong person but they still call anyway.

Yes, this is portfolio calling to collect a debt from 17 years ago. However, the debt was written off after 7 years with the credit bureau. Luvkli there is proff ofd this through credit reports. But, the scammer of Porfilio will do their best to collect the debt . The Ohio Attorney General Office says their a no statue of limitations in Ohio. The Credit bureau stats that a debt can not be collect after 7 years. But, it is best to have an attorney sue Portfolio and make them pay for harassing, and false documentation. Portfolio has to prove the date of debt, etc. Send aleeter to them within 30 days and ask for Proof/ Validation. If they cant proof that then the Attorney General will get involved. The law firm of Turner Law Offices, LLC has filed a Class Action lawsuit against Defendant Portfolio Recovery Associates, Inc. ("PRA") in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia on behalf of all persons in the State of Georgia who, since October 28, 2010, received a non-emergency telephone call from PRA to a cellular telephone through the use of an automatic telephone dialing system or an artificial or prerecorded voice and who did not provide prior express consent for such calls during the transaction that resulted in the debt owed.
I got a call from these people...they said I had some huge outstanding debt from a chain jewelry store (I think they said Kay's) There is not, and never has been, one of those jewelry stores in my city!!! Not an actual debt, or not me??? I checked and there is nothing on my credit report about this...it is still a bit alarming though, as I am still not sure where my name and number came from?
