Are you sure you don't mean lawbreaking Portfolio Recovery Associates? The name sans "recovery" appears to be for an innocent looking PR firm in Philly.
I screen all calls that come in: if there a Caller ID name, or if it's a telephone number I recognize, I'll answer. If not, I'll research it. I'm compiling a list of telephone numbers Portfolio has used to call me for a possible submission to the N.J. Attorney General's Office.
they call to find someone I used to know because I guess I was a reference at one point. I haven't seen her in years and years and couldn't find her if I tried. but, they don't listen and they just keep on callin. really annoying. I have asked them to stop calling politely several times... and less politely a few other times. It doesn't matter. They don't call too often, though... maybe a dozen times this year (from January to July). I don't intentionally not answer, they just tend to call when I'm at work most of the time, so I look up this weird number (it always changes). If they call more often, I'll start blocking it. I'm not sure why they think pestering me is going to help them somehow, it's just annoying me and I'm getting to the point where I probably wouldn't give them any info even if I did have it.
