Are you sure you don't mean lawbreaking Portfolio Recovery Associates? The name sans "recovery" appears to be for an innocent looking PR firm in Philly.
Portfolio Recovery Associates called at 10:00am on a Friday. Sometimes they leave an automated message, and the person's name they are looking for is inaudible...so you never really know who they're looking for. This time they did not leave a message on my answering machine.
Calling them back, an automated message said, "For English, Press 1, Espanol, prima el dos. Thank you for calling Portfolio Recovery Associates. Call may be monitored or recorded. This communication will be with a debt collector..."
Despite speaking with this third-string debt collection agency on several occasions to have my number removed (using the file reference number they provide on the answering machine), they continue to call. Not surprising...
i have these people callen my house once a day. they are looken for money from me and i am not going to do it. it has been going one for about 1 year now. it is getten really stupid.
I am a victim too! I had a charge on a fashion Bug that I did not authorize. I reported it and they investigaged and found no proof of my signature or phone charge. I closed the account in good standing. Now this company is calling me 3 to 4 time a week with different numbers looking for payment, threatning me to report a negatieve report to the credit buearu.
