Nope. If it was "discharged" through bankruptcy (not charged off), they've broken 2 sets of laws. Anything discharged means it's gone. Any attempt to collect can be used as grounds for a lawsuit from the original creditor (who sold an account they knew was discharged) and the current company attempting to collect once you tell them it's charged off and/or not to call you. If it's from 2005, it's probably past the time limit for payment anyhow. However, as there is a practice now of selling debts that are uncollectable in the feeble hope that some sucker will go ahead and pay on it anyhow, once you give them a dime, it starts all over again. Give them nothing, tell them nothing, log any calls, and tell them that since you will, under no circumstances, pay online or over the phone, get an address. Then you can send a certified cease and desist letter. They can then contact you 1 more time if they are actually going to sue you, in which case, there will be written documents sent to you. By logging and keeping an eye on things, you may have a really good case for unfair debt collection practice. A legitimate collection company knows all this. Sounds to me like you've got some sleazes there.
Try contacting the phone company about a number change. Harassment via the phone like that can get you a one time free number change, but ask for a new number, not a recycled one so this doesn't happen again.
