I received this same call at our business. They said that Verizon was lowering some fees from $14.00 to $4.00 and our long distance from .15 to
.09 and that there was a leaflet in our last telephone bill explaining the
new fees. I cut him off saying the last time I got a similar call we were slammed. He said this is not a sales call, but they had to verify
some information. I said I would look at our last month's statement and
call myself if I was interested. He is going to call back. The caller
ID said LDTS. I won't answer this call again. Also, if the phone co. is going to lower the rates, shouldn't they just do it? They don't need my
permission!!!!
Says they are calling on behalf of AT&T. Talk like they have details on your phone line; but they make generalized vague statements. Very odd...loud phone bank in the background
Got a call today from the same number, saying they were with Verizon, caller ID shows up as "LDTS". I informed them I had nothing to do with business decisions, but they repeatedly stated they were just informing us of lower long-distance rates and that nothing was being changed, until the call was disconnected.
We got a call today as well stating they were from AT&T. Stating all kinds of things about our AT&T bill and long distance and how the rates were going to be lowered, but I had to agree to it now. When I told her I'd be calling AT&T myself about these rates, she said "Well, just because it's Christmas doesn't mean they're going to be generous with you", WTH?
They are slammers - don't agree to anything with them!
