I received this same call at our business. They said that Verizon was lowering some fees from $14.00 to $4.00 and our long distance from .15 to
.09 and that there was a leaflet in our last telephone bill explaining the
new fees. I cut him off saying the last time I got a similar call we were slammed. He said this is not a sales call, but they had to verify
some information. I said I would look at our last month's statement and
call myself if I was interested. He is going to call back. The caller
ID said LDTS. I won't answer this call again. Also, if the phone co. is going to lower the rates, shouldn't they just do it? They don't need my
permission!!!!
The guy called (again). When I testily asked who he was working for, he said "the phone company". I laughed out loud. Bell got broken up decades ago. There IS no "the" phone company. He tried to tell me they were lowering my rates and then I hung up.
Beware, this company is trying to divert your service to themselves, without you asking for or wanting that. It's called "slamming".
Called several times, I finally picked up.. Loud noise in background.. Said wanted to reduce My rate and I said that it was a scam and they hung up on me
Person called stating they were with ATT.My 84 year old mother answered the phone as we listened in. They continued on to ask questions about her age and the year she was born. Asked her to lie to ATT about age so she could get a cheaper rate. I told her to disconnect the call because it was a scam. No company will ask you to lie to them for a cheaper rate.
Repeated attempts to call the # back from my mothers phone.Busy tone everytime.I placed a call from my cell phone and reached a recording stating,Thank you for calling, good bye!
