I just got one of these calls today. Same story about a free nights stay at a Hilton in Manhattan or Orlando. I WORK for Hilton but have no idea what this call is about. Dont trust it. I am reporting it to Hilton today.
Just checked my caller ID log on the answering machine and we've received over 10 calls from this company (Hilton Vacations) in the past three weeks. They never leave a message and the caller ID shows calls coming at all hours of the day and night.
I got a call from this number today, and just like happened to most of the folks on this site, they didn't say anything. I have read all the posts, and what I think you should do is NOT press 2 to get on THEIR do not call list. Just go to the DNC (National Do Not Call List) website and report them. I have never stayed at a Hilton so they don't get your number from their customer list.
NEVER let them add you to THEIR do not call list. All that does is let them know there is a live person answering your phone and you get even more calls like that.
Me again. Did some research. If you want to report these losers and you are on the Do not call list, go to this link www.donotcall.gov. If you are not on the DNC list you can still report them to the Federal Communications Comission (FCC) at this link. www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints.html
Just a note, I have never stayed at any Hilton Hotel nor any of it's "Family of Hotels". So, I'm clueless as to where they got my number.
Report these fools to either one or both places and make them pay for bothering you.
