Caller ID says "Florida Call". I answered, and as with all telemarketing scammers it took them a few seconds to get their brain in gear enough to respond. She said "hello, Mr. <lastname>?" I said, yes. She hung up. Seems like a real good business plan even if it is a scam, call random people and hang up when they answer. Bet the owner drives a Ferrari.

Thanks to all of you that posted about this number. The Caller ID said "Florida Call", nothing about "utilities" and they hung up before my answering machine finished. Scammers are criminals that do not care whether you are on the National Do Not Call List of not. They are fishing for the uniformed to answer the phone and dish out personal information or convince them to send a "prepaid card". These scum-bag scammers can enter ANY thing they want to display as the Caller ID and they can also post any phone number. So, 407-830-1565 may be a legit utilities company the scammer is using, knowing people can look up the number to see who it belongs to, thus hoping the next time they call you'll answer. Fraudulent scams garner hundreds of millions of dollars out of poor hardworking naïve people or seniors. They can do this without fear of being caught because there's not enough law enforcement to stop them. Phone companies may be able to stop these calls, but they're making big bucks too when their customers pay extra for Caller ID, call blocking, etc. The more irritated people get by these calls, the more the phone companies rake in. As long as the greed factor is in play, these calls will continue. There's nothing stopping them. They are the predators and we the prey.

caller id "Unavailable". Google search leads back to "Utilities, Inc" which is some kind of water and wastewater management company with a customer base nationnwide of only 300,000 customers. But, on their site they have "business partners" like HomeServ, a home warranty company (Home Service USA???) also selling useless scam waterline insurance that covers the pipe from your street to your house. Maybe it's one of their "partners" calling. In any case I'm on the DNC list, and have never heard of these idiots until today.

So right, Florida Sunshine.  Especially correct on companies like AT&T (American Toil & Trouble) who could stop this.  Saw a news article on Red China's dastardly theft of our intellectual property via internet hacking.  NSA says they know what building in China where the hackers work.  Now if they can figure out what building commie scum bag lazy scammers crawl out of the woodwork in, we can figure out where robo calls come from.  So why don't we apply the same tactics to find out where scum bag lazy scammers that are too corrupt to earn a decent and honest living are licking the floor for an easy buck?  Revenue for for the monopolistic phone companies like AT&T, that's why.  AT&T and their kin like Comcast don't want it to stop.  They have shown they aren't above any tricks to get you in and never let you go.  They don't know how to compete so they just kill fair trade in the state legislatures, congress. and the courts.  Our government has long since get being for the people.  Obama's stimulus didn't work for us, but made the too big to fail companies even bigger.  That's why he spends more time fund raising the people raising.
