Just received a call from this number.It came up on my television screen. I never answer any calls that I'm not familiar with. No message left on my answering machine so assume that is not legitimate. It came up showing UTILITIES FL.
We have been receiving calls on our land line from this number for the past week. Who are you and what do you want? If you are telemarketer please stop calling us or identify yourself. Stop being so annoying!!
This phone number called me today. It just says Florida Call above the number, which I thought very odd. Then they asked if Mr. or Mrs. ------- was in. I said I am Mrs. but this is a business. Where as she said, sorry, wrong number.
My assumption then is they are trying to call phone numbers to see if they are valid working numbers? So they can possibly sell them. I am going to go use my blacklist button on my little block box and block it. However, it seems when I do answer these calls I get a ton more from many other stupid scammers. And I mean scammers, no legit businesses.
I find it ridiculous how often people think the Do No Call list can do anything about criminals who call and try to swindle you by pretending to be a company. Simply put. A criminal doesn't follow the rules. If you aren't getting a ton of credit card offers over the phone, or other legit offers over the phone, then the DNC is working. But the criminals still do as they please, because they are criminals and breaking the law is what they do.
Just wanted to update the post a bit since this did not say Utilities on my phone. I did have a fake utility company call me and demand money. I told them I'd go get my bill and call the number on it and see if I truly owed any money. Of course I didn't because I know my bills are more than up to date.. but they didn't need to know that.
