Anyone who receives such a communication should immediately print out a copy of this thread and go to your local police station and make a report. If enough people do this, they can at least have a press conference notifying the community of the problem.
I cant believe this happen to me. Due to the circumstances and nature of this call i fell for this [***], it was terrifying. My brother has been in an accident before and i am his emergency contact so when i got this call i tried to handle it and do what they say. I ended up sending 450$ to some [***] in puerto rico. Beware of the name "dimaldi j santiago rosario" if anyone is looking up this number. It was awful, they said my brother was in an accident with a motorcycle and he had to pay the damages of $4000 or else a bullet to his head. At the moment it's happening logic seem to fly out the window and i had no one there to quickly maneuver and help me assess the situation.
It's unfortunate that this has happened to you, but most all of these types of scams occur when persons share information on 'social' media sites. People that keep personal information private, seldom have this happen to them.
My husband called me to see if I was ok and then told me that this number called and told him I was in a terrible accident and then asked him for all of his and my personal info. I promise if I find this POS I will make it so that he cannot dial a phone or speak again.
My husband received a call from this TERRORIST around noon today. They had our daughter and holding her for $5000. Needless to say he was able to get to the police and while he was talking to the TERRORIST, they showed him where they had done this a number of times. They do need to be caught, but apparently nobody can. I'm going to contact the news media about it.
