Anyone who receives such a communication should immediately print out a copy of this thread and go to your local police station and make a report. If enough people do this, they can at least have a press conference notifying the community of the problem.
Scam Phone Number 4079692221, Was terrorized by the caller claiming my dad had been in an accident.
They almost got me into sending money by claiming my dad's car was involved in an accident, he's unconscious and loosing a lot of blood. Then the conversation turned to now he is being kept hostage because someone is badly injured from the accident my dad caused. And they are demanding $3000 to let him go.
I froze since my dad was indeed traveling. He wouldn't let me speak to him. I had none at home and he wanted me to go to the bank at that moment. He wouldn't let me hang up either saying he would be harmed! He said if I didn't do as he said that he would blow my dads brains out!
Sounded all too real! Ugh! I located a neighbor and used their phone to contact my dad and he was safe!
Today I received a phone call from this number. He was claiming to be a paramedic calling from Florida Hospital. He explained that he had an unconscious man who had been thrown from the vehicle in a car accident. The man had suffered extreme blood loss and my number was listed as his emergency contact. Then they asked if I knew a man in orlando that would have me listed as their emergency contact. I said "yes" and they asked me for the person's name. I told them my husband's name and they "confirmed" it was him. ... I'm not sure what they were trying to get out of me because they eventually messed up their rehearsed transcript and I hung up and called my husband... thankfully he answered. They were very convincing, and even hours later and my husband home, I'm very shook up from this experience. I'm not a social media person so I don't think that had anything to do with the call.
I got a call today saying that my husband was in a car accident and was unconcious and in critical condition. He said that I was the emergency contact and asked to confirm my husband's name and model car which I did. Said my husband hit his son who is in the hospital. They said they took my husband and had a gun to his head and said that he said to call me . No police, no fbi. Said they would take him to the hospital and he was losing blood if I wired $4000 to some Walmart account. Threatened me, horrific language, total thug. Said he had my husband's phone, when i looked him up on locator and my husband was at home. So, hung up on him.
OMG I received a call from this jerk, made my blood pressure go up telling me my son was in a wreck and he caused a serious accident and it was in the projects and he said that he was an off duty EMT and witnessed it and intervened but the people that held him said that they will kill him if we don't help him. He said that he lost a lot of blood, head cracked open and unconscious. I said why did you not take him to hospital? He said unless we give the people holding him hostage 4000 to repair the damage to the motorcycle and the medical bills for the thugs son, that they will kill him. He said lady they mean business. He said don't call the police, FBI or text or call him. I sent my husband out of the room to call him and he got him on the phone and thank God we heard him alive and well. But we were freaked out, my blood pressure must be through the roof, heart palpitations, not well at all. We are reporting this to the police immediately. No one has my cell phone unless i personally give it to them and I am selective on who I give it to. I pray that whomever has this time on their hands to do this evil, malicious prank gets caught. Apparantly there is a website reporting this number as a scam and no one can catch them. I am not sure how that is possible. 407-996-2221 is teh number if anyone gets a call like this.
