Anyone who receives such a communication should immediately print out a copy of this thread and go to your local police station and make a report. If enough people do this, they can at least have a press conference notifying the community of the problem.
Same here, they just called and put us on hold...the call timed out but knowing it was a scam I wanted to hear what they had to say before I told them to screw off.
Said he was an EMT in Orlando and some lady was unconscious, been in a bad car accident by the Exxon. I hung up, called the police and the police said that EMT's never make those phone calls from the scene. Good to know!
My daughter who lives in Lakeland and is 6 months pregnant received a call at 12:00 AM indicating there had been an accident and she was the emergency contact for this male who was hurt really bad. They said they were an off duty EMT and the person needed to be rushed to Florida Hospital. She has two brothers and immediately thought of them and became very upset. Then they asked for $4000 in order to take care of him or they would let him die. She called us in Orlando and spoke with her younger brother then began explaining the conversation to us. Of course we were immediately concerned until she got to the part about the $4000 then we figured it was a scam. My son then googled the number an sure enough other people have been victims. Unbelievable what worthless human beings will do for a dollar. If I could just get my hands on them.
I got this call at 7:00 p.m. on 6/8/15. Claimed he was an EMT. Wanted to know if I had a female with my number as an emergency number. Asked description of my wife's car. Then claimed my wife hit his 16 yr. old son on a motorcycle and his friends came by and hit my wife in the head with a pistol and then said he has kidnapped her unless I came up with $4000.00 dollars. He said not to call police or speak with anyone about this. When I started to ask to speak with my wife he started to yell at me, cursing, and then told his friends to shoot my wife and hung up. I tried to call my wife and she at the time was on a walk and didn't have her cell phone with her. I called 911 and the dispatcher said it was a scam that was going on for two years in the Orlando area. I called my local police dept. and they dispatched an officer to my house to check on my wife. When I finally got a hold of my wife I calmly explained what transpired and the importance of having her cell phone with her at all times. This was horrible! There has to be a way to trace this terrorist. Personally, I just had major open heart surgery and needless to say his #$%^& got my blood pressure skyrocketing. There's a special place in hell for monsters like this. With technology today I would assume law enforcement can track him down?
This number called my phone m. I never answer a number that I do not recognize. So googled it and found it to be a scam. Then blocked it.
Do not answer first always Google to see who it is.
