Caller was probably from an offshore call center, said he wanted to send me a free white paper from HP on some type of data storage system. I'm not in IT, and the company is small, so I asked him to remove my name from his list. He hung up on me. I get at least two of these calls a week even after asking to be removed. If anybody from HP is listening -- this doesn't boost your image in my mind!
Numerous calls from this number, so I finally answered. Gentleman with a heavy accent called saying he got my number from a coworker and he wanted to discuss Focus, his staffing company with me. I told him I was not interested, he tried to get my email and other info to which I hung up.
Called my job looking for a guy by name. This man has been gone from the company for atleast 5 years and we still get people calling him. They are trying to get ahold of someone in your IT to probably solicit. He tried to get the name of the new CIO or IT manager but I just transferred him before he could finish his sentence. Gave him the IT vendor line which equals VOICEMAIL!
Wow, he just called back before I could finish writing this.. I just answered and transferred without a word!
Two people in our company received a call from this number. Man explained he was requesting information and it was clear he was phishing for information. We both hung up on him.
I received a call from number 408-459-2892 this morning and the individual identified himself as Mark. The individual had a Hindu accent and was talking very fast as to being able to get me to verify my e-mail address so that he could send me information. He asked me if I was a member of the IT management. I said no, I am not. Then he asked: can you tell me who the IT manager is? I said let me put you through the operator and… before I could finish, he hung-up the phone.
I called the number back to try to get some information from them and also report the caller’s uncouth manners, but it went straight to an automatic attendant, which later said that the voicemail was full and was not accepting anymore messages.
My caller called and asked for two different people at our company when I asked where were they calling from I was told Dell. When I asked the nature of the call she got defensive and hung up!
