Was woken up at 12:30 A.M. with a call from this number to my cell phone. A recording says my mastercard from 5th 3rd bank was suspended and to press 1 for more information. Since I don't have a credit card it was a no brainer. What astounds me is that these calls have been being made for at least four years now, seeing the original dates on this forum going back to 2010. Also, the Do Not Call registry only applies to legitimate businesses trying to sell you something. It doesn't keep scum bags from calling random numbers in the middle of the night, sadly.
I got the call from a completely automated system. The calling number may be displayed ase 408-942-9800, but it is being spoofed. I contacted the company registerd to the phone number Vector Fabrication and they said they are getting 100s of calls from people like us.
I do not have whatever CC they said had been inactivated. For fun, I went ahead and hit the 1. The system asks for the 16 digit CC number and is sophisticated enough to recognize invalid CC numbers.
Received a call from this number on my cell phone. It started out saying that my account with Point Bank and been suspended andn was telling me to press one to talk to a representative. I hung up because i don't have nor have ever had an account from Point Bank.
