I love it - I have done the same thing - answer the phone even though I know it is a scammer. Figured to waste their time until they catch on so they can't bug someone else.
I have reported these scammers to my state, and they say they are fighting a losing battle. The calls actually originate offshire, and these thieves are able to spoof a domestic caller. The Do Not Call is pretty much useless in this case, although a class action suit has allegedly been filed by the states attorneys general. Sometimes if you try to call back, the number is not in service or does not exist. Spoofed again. Keep on blocking, folks.
Unsolicited call, my number is on the national do not call list and was updated about 4 or 5 months ago. The guys name was Adam and he wanted to lower my credit card rate when I asked on which card he hung up
