I have recieved about 50 calls in the last 2 days from various numbers. When I do answer, it is always a thick Indian accent and trying to give me something I have won. How do I get these calls to stop? I called my cell phone company and blocked 4 numbers, the most frquently used, but calls still come in...
Yup, the robo message in a woman's voice , started somewhere in the middle of the message, and said something about this being possible because of "the stimulus, " whatever B.S. that is. I know these are "lower your rates" scammers-- but here is something very interesting: A few months back, I got a call with the caller ID saying "CARD SERVICES" and when I looked up the number, the number is one that belongs to PORTFOOLIO RECOVERY ASSOCIATES. What about that? anybody want to speculate on what it means?
As anyone experienced with these scammers knows, reporting these spoofed numbers to the government is useless, the FCC has nothing to do with it,and regardless of what the caller ID might say they are all associated in one way. TRYING TO RIP YOU OFF!!!!
Don't answer the calls and don't bother to report them to any government agency. It's a waste of time!!.
Buy a phone that blocks a large # of calls. If you don't recognize the area, don't pick up!
Get dozens of calls every week. That's the problem when you have decent to good credit. Problem solved. Got a Panasonic wireless phone. Blocks up to 30 numbers. Have to remove old ones to make room for new ones but it stops them. Phone rings 1/2 ring then silence.
