They are a proffesional fundraising company that focuses on raising funds for non-profit organizations so that the groups they raise funds for can do their jobs as apposed to being on phones full time asking for donations. You (as well as the rest of the general public) would probably be outraged if your tax dollars which pay these peoples salaries (the officers/firefighters) were being used to pay officers/firefighters to sit in an office for eight hours a day seven days a week to raise funds for their programs as opposed to performing their civic duties. They aren't trained to fund raise either wich means they wouldn't be very effective at it either. While it can be annoying to get these calls because of the fund raisers persistance if they were to simply accept a no answer immediately, which happens almost every call they wouldn't be very effectiveat raising funds. It would be great if people voluntarily donated but they don't. Mos people don't care enough about others to help out.
These fund raising firms are bonded and registered with the state attorney general in the states they operate in and are in compliance with all regulations which govern these types of businesses, they are completely legal and in compliancs with all state and government regulations which is why somebody desn't do something about them ! Try learning about something before you just complain about it.
Also, do not call lists do not apply to them because they are raising funds for not for profit organizations making them exempt by law from all do not call lists.
These idiots called my house and my husband answered, a male voice asked for me by my first name only, and wouldn't tell him what the call was in reference to. So he chewed the guy out and he said he would just keep calling until he got me. when my husband hung up he called right back. When we called back we got the message for statewide appeals.
