i got this call at 6am. I pay my taxes so this was suspicious right away. I googled this number and got results right away that this is a scam.
I'm glad you have taken the time to research this number and not fall victim to this horrible and scary extortion. I really hate people like this. Making ends meet is already a challenge. Take care and report your incident.
Received two calls from this number and both times they left a message saying they were from the IRS. I tried calling them back but there was no answer so I left a very vague message.
THIS IS A SCAM CALL!!!! Woman with a tropical island accent left message saying she was "June Smith" with the "Internal Revenue Service" and to "fix my issue" I needed to call them right away at 415-234-9577. In closing, she says "do not ignore us" and "take care" trying to sound more Americanized I guess. As a CPA, I know for a fact the IRS does not call people to resolve valid issues - the IRS always sends letters and if the issue is big enough a Treasury Agent (with photo ID, a badge and possibly a concealed sidearm) will visit you personally. DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER BACK AS IT IS A SCAM. SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! SCUMBAGS!
Deep Indian accent threatening me with lawsuit an freezing my assets. Due to unpaid taxes. I have had all my taxes professionally done for 10 years. I confirmed with HR Block that IRS would always would be communicating such notices in writing, and to not provide any information to the caller. I also reported the scam to the IRS Impersonation Scam Team.
Some people ought to get real jobs making the world a better place rather than trying to rip others off. If you get this call don't give these crooks any personal information!!
