i got this call at 6am. I pay my taxes so this was suspicious right away. I googled this number and got results right away that this is a scam.
I'm glad you have taken the time to research this number and not fall victim to this horrible and scary extortion. I really hate people like this. Making ends meet is already a challenge. Take care and report your incident.
I have receivied a call from above number saying that it is from IRS dept and & If I don't call back to 415-234-957, an action will be taken against me.
Got Call from 415-23-9577. This is a scam call. The person has Indian accent and speaks fluent Hindi as well as English. Uses abusive language when challenged.
It was a woman trying to threat me if I don't pay something IRS they will use an action against me if I fail to call back an action will be taken. SCAM!!!! I'm ok with my IRS
I got same call from this number so many times since yesterday. When i asked his id : 1000496 and Name Shane Wapson. But check the previous post. The guy has same name and 2 different numbers. He said , he will send arrest warrant with in next 1.5 hr to arrest me and seize all credit cards & accounts etc. More over he threatens me like don't act so smart. we are from IRS.
I told them i called IRS and confirm with there is no ID with that name, but he is still acting smart. also told him it is scam call which i can find in Internet , still he is talking some nonsense about not paid taxes.
BTW, i heard some other representative talking with some other person stating that he need to go Food Lion or some other store to pay these dues. IRS never ask tax payers to pay the dues in "Food Lion" Store.
IRS Never call and ask credit card/ debit card details to pay the unpaid balances.

Additionally, it is important for taxpayers to know that the IRS:
•Never asks for credit card, debit card or prepaid card information over the telephone.
•Never insists that taxpayers use a specific payment method to pay tax obligations
•Never requests immediate payment over the telephone and will not take enforcement action immediately following a phone conversation. Taxpayers usually receive prior notification of IRS enforcement action involving IRS tax liens or levies.
