I got a message on my machine from a Julie Smith saying she was from the IRS and need to respond before action was taken against me.  I called back the next morning and spoke to a woman with a strong Indian accent.  She told me that I needed to hire a criminal attorney and that there was a warrant out for my arrest and they should be arresting me in 2 hours.  She told me that the IRS had 3 different charges against me and that I owed $5,000 and faced 2 years in jail.  I have to admit, she was good and had a lot of details  She also told me that I was being arrested because I hadn't responded to 2 letters that were to be delivered but I was not home to sign for them so this was their next step.  She said that she would call the officer and tell him to cancel the warrant so that she could send another letter out to me to give me a chance to settle the matter. I called my accountant and he assured me that this was a scam and not to give them any personal information, which I did not.

The message I received was an automated message saying it was Julie Smith from the IRS. The message said to call back at the number and it was very time sensitive. I didn't call back.

Called twice today - and same recorded voice of "Officer Julie" I looked up number and saw it was a possible irs scam - I called just to verify. First I got a voice mailbox no name - then I got a guy who claimed to be an officer from the IRS - I politely asked if this number was associated with an ongoing IRS scam and I was impolitely told to F*#% off and why did I call the number if I new it was a scam F#$%ing [***]. I guess that confirmed it.

I got 2 messages today - Julie Smith Office of the IRS - direct hotline is 415-251-8890 - I say we all robot call that number and blow up the voicemail stating we are with the FCC and will have the FBI calling on them if they don't resolve their important matter before we take action.  Between the 2 calls from this one today and 3 call yesterday from Steve Martin US Treasury (number says Philadelphia) it is ridiculous
