Caller claimed to be an investigative agent with the IRS when they asked for my name I stated that if they were the IRS calling me that they should have my name. The "agent" then hung up on me.
Got call from same number, agent Jacqueline Smith When I called back the moron answered with the name agent Jack Daniels. Asked for my number and I replied if he was IRS wouldn't he be able to tell that from caller id. He hung up. When I called again he was equally ignorant when I asked who he was. I figured it was a prank call until I spoke with the police. They told me to report it to the IRS, although they are aware of the scam. Had to laugh at the names though.
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.
The caller sounded like a computer voice and stated she was from the IRS and stated that I or my attorney should call this number immediately. I know the IRS does not contact issues via phone so this is probably fraud.
