This number has called me numerous time today. they left several voicemails saying they were going to take action against me. when I returned the call, an Indian gentleman told me he was from the IRS but he could not give me my name. I hung up on him and reported the number to the IRS.
I received a phone call today 10/29/14. Julie Smith from IRS do not disregard this message...blah, blah. I returned the call but no one answered. Watch out for scammers out there.
There are several calls claiming IRS. They need your bank account & credit card number to pay the dues to IRS.
How the FTC is allowing this types scams.
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
I received 2 automated messages saying that they were with the IRS and that I shouldn't disregard the message and I should call back before they "took action" on me. SCAM.
