NEVER, EVER believe ANYTHING on these calls...especially automated ones. Do not give out any personal info, bank info, credit card info etc. Tell your children, your parents especially elderly parents and any seniors you may know to do the same! Don't be a victim!
Using my home phone number from over a decade ago, scammer left a message with my parents that they wanted me to call regarding an old tax return with an IRS number.
First a Mary Chung answered and gave a reference number. Then another man answered "Internal Revenue Services."
You can report this San Francisco police / 415 area code. Anyone can be investigated. Anyone can be caught.
The worst kind of low life as most people are frozen with fear at the mention of the irs. I'm so grateful my recently deceased husband taught me well NEVER GIVE ANY INFO ESP ANY PERSONAL INFO ESP SOCIAL IF IRS WANTS YOU THEY WILL SEND YOU MAIL. BEWARE FOLKS
I had a message left just an hour ago, I figured it was bogus since I don't owe the IRS. I hope no one falls for this and remember the IRS will send you mail and you can call them.
