I have received several calls from this number from a guy who says he is Derrick Brown from the IRS and that my husband must call back and ask for Michael Carter and gives a reference number. Although I am making payments to the IRS, I have the correct name and phone number to the gentleman at IRS who is facilitating me with our IRS claim. THIS IS A SCAM!
Keep getting calls from this number like the others. He is very Indian and hard to understand. Finally I got rude but he kept on. I may have to get a new answering machine to stop the beeps.
Got call from this number a few minutes ago said he was Mark Dawson from IRS and asked for my husband which I said wasn't home. He said to have him call when he returned concerning an IRS problem, knowing we don't have any IRS issues I asked him if he was joking. He responded that he could return the call or suffer the consequence and immediately hung up. Glad others posted having this call and confirmed my thoughts it was a scam. Had an accent.
Received a call from a heavily accented man as well. I supposedly had a lawsuit filed against me for tax payment. I was supposed to call back at the same number and speak to another person and give them my reference number. I tried to call the number back to see if they would answer or what they would say, but the line picked up and beeped once. Nothing else.
I keep receiving calls with voicemails asking for a person who does not live here. The man has a thick Middle Eastern accent and claims he's from the IRS or something. Looks like it's been reported by many others as scam.
Received three calls on November 1 from (415) 690-8134. Heavy Indian accent by a lady claiming she was from the IRS. She was very belligerent. Told me not to interrupt her while she read her script. Told me that I would be arrested on Monday (November 4). Called her back several times and she hung up each time. SCAM!
