Yes, you should call back immediately with your pertinent details, confirm your SSN#, Bank Accounts (For Garnishment),
and Date of Birth. That is the only way you may stave off the IRS from attacking you.
i received an automated voicemail from Ms. Johnson. I am so glad that that this forum exists! I left a message telling her that I know that this is a scam and that I will be reporting her. Thanks guys!
I got three calls today from the number and the last call left a message. Glad I was told to google this and find out it was a scam. I knew the IRS wouldn't contact me by phone. There needs to be something done to put a stop to these people. 415-944-2722
They are trying but because the callers are from a foreign country it is difficult and time consuming to go after them. Here is a CBS News report on this pervasive scam:
I got a message from Nickie Johnson (IRS officer) telling me to contact her immediately because she has a retaining against me from one her attorneys. Instead of calling her, I google her phone number (415)944-2722 and I came to this page. I hope you guys do your best to catch these scams. Thanks.
I received a voicemail from this number stating it was a time sensitive matter and that I needed to return the call to Officer Nicky Johnson. It stated that it was regarding a war... and then the voicemail ended. I called the number and it gave a busy signal.
