Yes, you should call back immediately with your pertinent details, confirm your SSN#, Bank Accounts (For Garnishment),
and Date of Birth. That is the only way you may stave off the IRS from attacking you.
I just received a call fro Ms. Nicki Johnson saying she was an IRS agent and that I needed to call her back at the number she left on my cell phone 415-944-2722 both times I called it was buzzy I am so glad I googled this and I will not call again, its a shame we have to be put through this foolishness and I hope someone can put an end to this terrible individuals going around scaring good citizens darn those people anyway hope we catch them soon. I am grateful to find this page it puts my mind at ease
They called my husband from 415-944-2722. They threatend to sue for 5500 said it was back taxes and he needed to pay within the hour or else they would get a warrant for his arrest and send him to jail. The case number is #MN153489 and the person's name is "Mike Walters". I called the number back and asked for his name to which he said was Mike Walters and then asked where they are located..
he then said, "oh, you don't know?"
I said, "no, that's why i am calling"
he said, "neither do we"
he hung up on me and i have been trying to call them back (to get more info from them) but now the number is not working.
Multiple calls throughout the day I screened them all...
Number has left an automated message 3 times in a row now saying to call back before they have to take action on me
Also in the same flurry of phone calls another (unknown number) (317) 723-6180 I assume they're related...
Solution is I don't answer any number I don't know... if it's not saved to my contact list, then they'll leave a message. If I know who it is after listening to the message I'll call back...
