I didn't answer the call, but the caller "accidentally" left a message saying "Hello, is this ____ ______ (my name), hello? Hello, I need to speak with _____ _____. Hello??".
Definitely with an accent, perhaps Indian. I just don't like the fact that they knew my name....I'm not listed.
This number had been calling several times. I had some time to kill, so I let him talk me through it. He said that he was from the Maintenance Department (or the technical department after i asked him again later on) of Virtual PC Doctor. He told me that there were online threats in the past couple of weeks and that it was very serious and corrupted files were unknowingly getting on my computer every time i sent or received emails, or used the internet. And that Norton Anti-Virus was powerless to help. He got me to look at the application log in the event viewer, and told me that eventually these errors would destroy my computer. When he wanted me to enter in VirtualPCDoctor into my run command, i told him that most of what he had told me made no sense and that i wasn't going to listen to him anymore. This is likely a scam to gain access to your private information on your computer. Without offending anyone, I am probably about 40 or 50 years too young to fall for this.
Some foreign man called and said my resume posted online was impressive and I should come to a job fair on April 22nd with 10 copies of my resume. Don't think so. Couldn't understand the name of his company. Sounded like "Yellow Brick Road".
Got a call from these people...told the guy I did NOT want any more calls from him, and he had the NERVE to tell me that he will call me whenever he wants to. So the NEXT time he called I told him he was being recorded. He told me he had not given me permission to record his voice, and I told him, "when YOU call ME, I'll record anything I WANT...so far, no more calls.
