I just thought of something. They COULD have gotten my name from whitepages.com, but to clarify, in this case, the caller did mislead me. He called me "Mrs. ____", by my friend's last name, which tells me he got it from yellowpages.com's BUSINESS directory, and assumed I was married to my friend I had mentioned that had the tiny business. 99% of the calls I receive are for "Mrs. ____" or are asking for the owner by name, or saying the full name of the company itself. It's hard to get calls for my best friend on my cell phone, especially going on three years after his death. When I start to tell the caller that, they hang up.
Same as others no message left, I DON'T EVEN report any number to the DO NOT CALL anymore as they DON'T do anything about any of these calls! I am beginning to think that when I DID report the calls I actually rec'd MORE telemarkers calls etc! I merely don't and won't answer ANY number I do not recognize. This crap is just that.... CRAP!!! We the people need to flood the FCC with complaints and [***] about ALL calls of this nature to make them DO their jobs and put an end to this harassment!
got a call today saying they were looking for someone w the wrong name and asked me if i was in debt,,,,could not speak a word of english very strange...then told him i was reporting his # and he hung up quick!!!!
