Got the same thing in the mail. I contacted the bank that this check is written against and the bank Northwest Savings verified that it is a fraudulant check. So wasted no time in shredding the hell out of a waste of my time.
I wonder whether these jokers think that sending their scams from Canada will get them off the hook with the Justice Department here in the US?
Mine was postmarked Apr 21 from Canada but no specific location. It was for winning $250,000.00 USD and a cashier's check (heehaw) for $4,900.00 was included. Naturally I assumed it was a scam, a variation of an age old one at that, but the check certainly looked authentic. Waiting as I write this for word from the bank in TX that "issued" it for its authenticity. Have a feeling they didn't write it..omg what a skeptic am I??
I love to debunk the overwhelming amount of [***] that comes along each and every day, everything from the Global Warming Hoax to stuff like this that we get in our mailboxes.
Thanks for all of your observations guys and girls, makes an old skeptic happy to see not everyone is a sucker no matter what P.T.Barnum says.
Sorry Ryan, wish you had not fallen for their idiot's scam. It is as old as ancient times, the same scam is thousands of years old and still going strong. Greed and fear, both bring out the people who fall for these scams.
