I was getting these calls frequently a few months ago, and then they stopped. Most of the time, I played along with them, but refused to turn my computer over to them. If they get control of your computer, they do some work on it, and then they say they have reached a problem that will be difficult to fix unless you pay them. If you refuse to give them your credit card number, they destroy some of your files.
Today, I received another call from that number. A man with an Indian accent told me my computer was sending out a virus (same story as before) and I started laughing. He wanted to know why and I told him I knew it was a scam and they weren't getting control of my computer. He hung up.
