A male voice with an accent called this afternoon from this number. I could hear many background voices of what I am assuming other scammers ~ he explained that he was from Windows and that my computer is sending his office messages reporting viruses. I let him explain, but I knew immediately that this was a scam phone call... We have had them many times in the past. After he spoke for a little while, I explained that EVERYONE in the US is aware that this is a scam and that he should really look for a legal job. He tried to explain that I must have him confused with someone else. I told him that I did not.... This caller even had my husband's first name, so keep in mind that they MAY have misc info on you when they call, but that does not mean that they are legit. He eventually hung up on me after saying that he must have dialed the wrong number. I immediately tried to call the number back and a recording came on saying, "The subscriber you have dialed is not in service."
We constantly get calls (almost once a day) from 423-845-7012. The voice we hear has an Indian (from India) accent. We have a new computer in the last 10 days and paid $120 for the technician we use, to download all the programs we wanted, old and new. Still, we get calls that something is wrong with our computer. How do we block these calls?
