Answered the phone and recorded message said they could lower credit card debt on all credit cards to 6% as long as there was $3000 in dept and have one card in good standing. Press 1 and someone will answer to assist. I did not press one. Looked up the number and I see others have been called as well. Just had to write.....
I get called at least once a week by these jerks, -usually when I'm asleep or having lunch or dinner. Report them to donotcall.gov. I know it doesn't seem like much to do, but it's a start. What we really need is the phone company to provide us free call blocking. It's way too limited and expensive to do it now, but they could easily provide their own spam filters just as Google and others do.
Your problem is probably the older phone---I invested in a Panasonic (one of the newer ones with high/mh. I can block up to 30 phone numbers and that's the only issue I have is the 30 number limit---that tells you how many different calls I get!!!! I have to periodically go in and delete a few to add some more. But the system works great, can have it block "out of area", privant no., etc., as well as numbers listed. Rings one time and then hangs up on caller.
