OMG I just got the phone call about an hour ago I spent some time questioning this so called David Brown and when I asked him what month, day, and year this so called pay day loaned was taken out he said he only had the the year of 2010 information available. My dad was present at the time I was on the phone and told me that it was probably all crap! I was very suspecious after they were not able to provide the information I requested. They even threatended me by saying they would call my job and have me arrested there. After reading all of the comments posted here I know I did the correct thing by just hanging up on them!
I had the same call. The minute I received the call and the gentlemen got LOUD with me, I handed the phone to my husband. The same names were given to us... only he used Mike Jones, but again Sgt. Robert Marshall is who we were referred to. We have contacted our local police department and the police department in Allentown, PA where they claim to be from; and apparently they too realize this is a scam! Women... don't give out any info.... GIVE THE PHONE TO YOUR HUSBAND OR ATTORNEY!
Got the same call...I called my local police dept.... and my cell carrier....SCAM!!!! TOTAL SCAM!!!!!! Told me I was going to JAIL!!! IDIOTS!!!! Who calls you and tells u when you are going to JAIL!!!!
Just got a call from these A-Holes saying I owed money for a payday loan as well. Threaten me saying that if I didn't pay I'd get 9 months in jail. When I informed him that I am a former police officer and that I was tracing and recording our phone call he got angry and told me that I couldn't do that and that I was breaking the law. I asked him to provide me with the law that I was violating he said he didn't have to give me that and hung up.
I just got a call today about the same payday loan, they keep calling and saying I owe some money and that a warrent will be issue for my arrest. They just keep callin and I don't know what they r talkin about and they want give no info. He said his name was sargent jones and then he said he was Robert anderson.I had the number blocked.
THIS IDIOT CALLS (WITH A VERY STRONG ACCENT) AND SAYS HE IS AN OFFICER AND WILL THROW ME IN JAIL FOR NOT PAYING A PAY DAY LOAN WHICH I NEVER RECEIVED IN THE FIRST PLACE THEN HE WILL CALL AND SAY HE IS WITH THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT WHEN I ASK FOR THE BAR NUMBER OF THE ATTORNEY OF RECORD HE HANGS UP. COME ON PEOPLE THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "DEBT JAIL" IF THERE WAS HALF OF US WOULD BE IN IT.WHEN YOU ASK FOR THE ADDRESS OF WHERE TO SEND A MONEY ORDER THEY WONT GIVE IT TO YOU THEY WANT YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER ITS A SCAM DONT EVEN GIVE THEM THE SATISFACTION OF ANSWERING THEIR CALL THEY JUST WANT TO ARGUE WITH YOU AND BE RUDE ITS NOT WORTH YOUR TIME.
