I think you're missing the point of this thread. The point is that when these people call (whoever they really are), they hang up when the person being called answers. Then, when we call back, there is either no answer or a busy signal. I understand telemarketers and scammers and legitimate foundations wanting donations. It doesn't make sense, though, that no one responds when the calls are answered. What's the point? They're not getting anywhere. I don't think anyone is questioning the value of supporting local charities. We are simply questioning the purpose of these hang-up calls.
