The Arkansas State police Association address is 5702 Dreher St., Little Rock, Ar. 72209. It is right behind the State Police H.Q. building in Little Rock. The teddy bears are given to children that have been involved in an accident or some other upsetting event in the hopes that it will make them feel better.
Got a phone call. "Teddy Bears for children ... etc."
I replied, "You are giving teddy bears to children and you want me to pay for them?"
The line went dead!
Why doesn't the Arkansas State Police web page have a link or something to direct us to some facts about this program? I am happy to give as long as i know exactly what i'm giving to. I'm not sure about these callers. In the past I asked them to send something in the mail and they said they cannot do that. Shouldn't the police be the first to agree to send something in writing if we feel unsure?
They cannot just send something unless you can actually help because the postage comes out of the fund, and at 45 cents per envelope now, that would greatly decrease the amount that the ASPA's can use for these great causes like the teddy bear drive and other benefit programs.
They are also required by the Attorney General to mail you a receipt for every donation (whether you have use for it or not), so they have to put everything in the one envelope so it doesn't end up costing 90 cents instead of 45.
As stated by Happy Supporter, this service helps the ASPA more than ANY other program, so it's important to have this money stay in Arkansas where it belongs, which is the best thing for our economy right now!
ASPA does stand for Arkansas State Police Association, but it is not them calling. It is a hired telemarketer who keeps the majority of the money as "expenses". Charity only gets a small percent. Please see this article from a knowledgeable source regarding said Telemarketers:

Do not be fooled. They are out for themselves. I asked them on four occasions to remove my name from their list and they continue to call. The idiot who just called was rude and an absolute a - - hole.
