This Tom White person called my job and nastily told my boss he needed to get in touch with me because I was in Big Trouble?? Really??? When I called the # back to find out what this was about, and told the lady I would be reporting them, I got hung up on and when I tried to call back several times, they would pick up and hang up.... SCAMMERS
I got a phone call from this number just now, and they were asking for my husband, who just happens to be at work right now, and said to have him call them because his social security number is under investigation and if they don't hear back from him by tomorrow, the police will be here to arrest him. They had accents, Indian or Asian, and were very rude, and so I got mad. I hung up on him after telling him don't call here again. Then he called me back asking if I had hung up on him and I said 'yes'! and he said, 'Why'? I said I don't have to explain jack to you! and I told him don't call here no more. I call that number back and some woman answered and was also rude, saying this is a law firm. No law firm will be that unprofessional first of all. I asked that [***] if she wanted me to get the police over there cause that is what I will do if she calls back here messing with my husband. This is not the first time some such person called. The number is shown as being a Massachusettes number.
I have received four calls from this number this morning. Two were to my cell and the other two were to my desk at work. Whoever it is has the last four digits of my social and they are trying to threaten me into calling them back stating that it's a call from the Department of Law and Investigation and that my social security number is being investigated... I am so not buying this crap. Whoever you are, please forget my phone numbers. You can not make me answer my phone... IDIOT!!!
I have been getting many of these calls not only on my work phone but my cell phone. When they started calling me last year, I fell for their scam and lost over $2000 to them. It got so bad when they were calling my work number one scammer started calling my work number constantly because I wouldn't give him my managers name and phone number. My director finally had his phone number blocked from my work phone. But they still keep calling me Today and last week while I was out for a funeral they called and left messages for me that there was a suite against my ssn. The last call today was from a woman. I know they are scammers and I have a long list of names, phone numbers, and the business name they used to try and extort money from you. I am glad that the FTC is finally doing something about them. I just have to get all my information together and turn it over to the FTC.
A couple weeks ago one man called and I took down all of his information and then told him that I was calling the FTC, Home Land Security and my local police department that would listen to me and have him arrested for theartening phone calls, scamming for money, and extortion. He hung up on me and didn't call back.
I've been receiving calls from this number also, alot of calls. Yesterday alone I got about 10 calls on my cell phone, my husband got about the same on his phone, then the guy caled my husbands uncle about the same amount of times telling them that my name and ss # was under unvestigation. He keeps asking me for my lawyers name and fax number.I don't know what this all is about. My husband thinks that I'm lying.
