My mother received a phone call from this company. She beleived it to be a scam so she contacted the police. An officer came over and called the number back. The rep who picked up was rude even to the officer. The officer hung up on her. I tried to call them back myself and failed to get an answer. I get an automated message stating that all reps are busy helping other customers and it disconnects after that. I don't remember a whole lot from working collections myself, but I do remember something about only being able to have contact with the customer twice in one day. I can also tell you that you can have them no longer contact you if you provide them with what is called a cease and desist letter. They have to provide you with an address to send this to. I advise everyone reading this to do so.
Only the business that owns the debt can take you to court on it. Some Collection Agencies buy debts and have the legal right to pursue Arbritration in order to collect. And if Arbritration is won in a Collection Agency's favor, be prepared to be forced by law to pay-up.
Read your cell phone contracts, people. This is totally legal.
Why send a Cease & Desist letter for a balanced owed on services rendered?
FYI: If it's in Active Collections, then it's effecting your credit in a negative way, as an R9 Charge-Off. Go ahead, check your credit reports (www.irs.gov - US Government offers you a free report from 3 different bureaus once a year)
Why would you want them to stop calling, unless it's a wrong number? If it's a wrong number, just tell them. Otherwise, they're calling you for a reason.
I received a call from a Mrs. Whitehead, at Miracle Financial(800)706-5255 she was rude, raised her voice I told her I did not agree with the amount in question and she told me if I paid my bills their would not be any questions. however, if you can speak to someone else you will do alright!
