I just got the same phone call. From 509-588-7293. Says it's the IRS and there has been a lawsuit filed against me and I am to call back. They called 2 times. Ummmmm not calling them back and going to block them on Ooma!
I just received the same call as everyone above. The call sounded like it was someone in India or Pakistan and sounded as if they were speaking off a script. They told me I owed the IRS and if I didn't pay immediately or if I even hung up the phone I would be arrested within 30 minutes. He gave me a fake (American) name and a fake employee number. He was very non-specific about what I supposedly owed to the IRS. When I said I was going to hang up and call the IRS myself he became very irritated and wished me luck with my upcoming arrest.
Same thing: two threatening robotic calls within a few hours. I knew it had to be a scam but will call the local police. Would love to set up a sting. :)
I received robo call stating that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me and that I should call this number. I have filed a complaint with U S District Attorney’s office about this call.
I could not understand the man on the phone at all. He also did not give me a minute to speak as I tried to ask for some kind of proof. He said he was with the IRS, I was being arrested, I have a warrant out for my arrest, my drivers licence was being revoked, and my bank account was being take over by the IRS. WOW the poor people who believe him. when he hung up on me he said I will be arrested soon and going to jail.
