I keep getting msgs from this number so I called back. They are looking for my nephew and told me if I didn't provide them with his cell number they would have to take action against me!! These people don't even know my name.
I just got the same call from a man named David Pierce from the number 512-562-0059
He said that we had to undergo an unpleasant process of an asset verification. Isn't that what the courts are for? Lol
When you have an unpaid bill you get sued and then there's a lean put on your property or your income tax return. I work for a bank and file claims all the time unfortunately.. I don't like haggling people for money they don't have. I pay all my bills and I still got this call
For whatever reason, debt collectors believe my cell phone number belongs to a man named Jeff, and I receive calls from new debt collectors every three months. I guess the fact that I've had this cell number nearly 20 years now means nothing.
Today, this number called me. I believe they claimed to be "AVRS" (funny how these companies use initials that make it harder to verify whether or not the call is even legitimate). They asked my name, so I turned around and asked them who they were calling. When the lady said it was Jeff, I told her that there was no such person and that if she was a debt collector, to stop calling me to look for him.
It seems that as soon as I tell one collection agency to stop calling me, a different one calls me 3 months later. Is there anything I can do to get them all to leave me alone?
Got a call from "David" claiming I owe a debt to Pay Day Max. I googled the number and saw it was a scam and told him I hope he gets cancer and dies. Then I googled pay day max and found it has been shut down for illegal activity. I also called the Office of the Attorney General of PA, and was told that pay day loans are illegal in PA, and they asked me to file a complaint with them and with the FTC. I have filed both.
