I keep receiving these calls. I have taken payday loans out in the past, but I believe I have paid for them all finally. Also, my credit report doesn't say this on it--and my credit report is bad. I keep getting calls at work on my cell phone and I did receive something in writing. I need to look at the address. As for that John that previously left a message--NOT A SINGLE TIME HAS THE PERSON CALLING ME BEEN ANYTHING BUT RUDE AND TALKING DOWN TO ME. Believe it or not, if this is legit, there was a reason I got the payday loan so your company's continuing harrassment won't get the money any faster when I am already broke.
I received a call yesterday from this number from a David. I have read your posts. Is this really a scam? If so, should I even call him back? I have been a victim of payday loan cscam ollectors before trying to collect on loans I never had. I found then that it was best just to not talk to them. I believe everything is paid but if this is a legitimate debt, I would like to take care of it. I just don't want to get into it with the scammers again.
I just got a call from them too. They are legit. They were calling me because someone had used my ssn to get a loan. And now that loan wasn't paid. I told them it wasn't me and he said that he would report that it was fraud. He did a reverse lookup of the email and we discovered that it wasn't my name listed on that account. I live in tn and this persons bank is in tx. Gave me his name and number and Hung up. He was very clear, American and actually nice. Which is NOT common for CAs.
Received a call from a Mr. Thomas about an "important matter" then left the toll free number to call back. CLEARLY a scam. I just reviewed my credit report and have no debt. DO NOT fall for it or call them back.
