We are in Orlando, FL. Received a call yesterday at 3:40 which showed up on our caller ID as "206931". The automated message instructed us to call 515-354-1813 b/c our Visa at McCoy Federal Credit Union had been suspended. (We do not have an account there, nor did we call.) Have to say that I'm surprised they insert specific account names, since they apparently are not matching phone numbers against known accounts!
I live in Orlando, Fl and received 'out of area' call with automated message that my Corp Credit Union debit card has been suspended. Message instructed me to call 515-354-1813. Since I am unfamiliar with Corp Credit Union and do not use a debit card at all, I ignored the message. Thank you, Google, for locating information that exposes this type of activity to us.
I'm in Orlando, too, and just 15 min. ago received the same automated message regarding my CFE credit union debit card. I called the CU & they told me there were no problems with my debit card & referred me to their real security number: 800-622-1361.
I live in Aurora, a suburb of Chicago. Got a message on my phone from 515-354-1813, saying call this number to activate a visa debit card. Since I don't have any debit card, I called this number to talk to any operator. But the only option that they give was to press 1 to activate the card. No other option, like 0 for operator, works. So I hanged up.
Got a call around 5PM. We live in Orlando Fl. They said our Corp. Credit Union card was "tampered with" and is "on hold". We ignored it since it appears to be a hoax.
My Dad, also in Orlando,Fl just received a recording stating that his Visa Debit card expired and to call 515-354-1813. He was smart enough to call his bank and verify his card is fine!
