No clue who it is. Probably some scam like most numbers. You can download and app called Mr. Number to hang up on calls or send to voicemail. It works great!
I want to clear up a common misconseption. These calls are not necessarily blocked by the company that's calling. I 've been making calls on behalf of charities for 4 1/2 years & most of our calls come up on caller id as the charities name, our pickup # or "Charity Pickup." This is based on Donor comments such as "Can I call the # on my caller id if I have anything?" We do not block our calls, partially because of the number of people who think the way you do. Most people aren't aware of this unless they work in this industry. I didn't before I started this job. Secondly, we only leave a message if we're reminding a Donor that they have a pickup scheduled in the next day or two. Very few people would call a charity back. Thirdly, just because the call isn't coming from your area code doesn't mean anything. I work in a call center in the Midwest, but we call on charities all over the country with branches in the areas we call. For instance, if you live in Miami, 100% of the procedes goes to a Miami branch of that charity.
I am on the Do Not Call list & understand that some companies, such as charities who aren't asking for money or selling anything, are exempt from this list. Since it was a missed call, I have no way of knowing if this company has an exemption. Someone else who commented on this numbers page said it was a "credit card scam.". If that's the case, I deal with my bank. I would really appreciate not receiving anymore of these calls.
Call from local area code so they got my interest. Having medical problems and new calls coming in weekly I presumed this was a call from a medical professional. Not to be. I missed the initial call and they called back a 2nd time which I also missed. So I called the number back and received a thank you msg for choosing MCI as my local preferred long distant carrier. Now I guess I wait to see if I receive a bill from MCI for service I don't need, ever requested, or approved. From here on, if I don't know the caller number they better leave a msg or they will never hear back from me. I have registered twice now on the do not call register and am still receiving these unwanted calls.
