Female with Indian/Pakistani accent called for my wife (by name) and wanted to talk about her "medical compensation". Baloney. My wife has not had any medical work done in years. SCAM SCAM SCAM.
Got the call this morning from this number and upon answering, started pitching my "own" telemarketing schpiel to them.....thanked them for accepting my call and told them the land boom in the Sahara had just started and that there were plans to irrigate and turn the desert into a lush paradise and that now was the opportunity to get in on the ground floor ! An incredible investment opportunity for them ! Told them all I needed was a small deposit to hold their name on the VIP list and then I would get a sales manager to contact them directly, within 48 hours to complete the required information. The guy was so flustered, kept telling me he called me , that he had some vital information to provide to me, at which point I kept telling him , no I called him. After about 5 minutes of this slapstick comedy, (I about fell out of my chair while doing this I was chuckling so hard) I told him that my phone was regiostered on the National DNC list (like that does anything ...lol) and that I was going to file a complaint with the FCC . He promptly hung up.
Caller (Indian accent) identified himself as "Jason" and said he was from United States Medical Assistance, and asked for my wife by name. Told him she was not available and could I take a message. He asked if either of us had recent surgeries and I told him I would never divulge any personal information of any kind to an unknown/unsolicited caller. He said the company was in the business of providing monetary rewards to people who had been 'harmed' during surgery. Told him "good luck on his next call" and hung up. Obvious scam or ambulance chasers or both.
The phone showed "Wantash NY". Heavily accented fellow said something about a medical intervention and asked, "Is this true?" to which I said very firmly, "No, and you need to take this number off your call list!" He replied, "Yes, ma'am" and hung up.
Call Type: Obvious Scam (this should be in the Call Type list!)
