Got a call on my cell AND my home number almost simultaneously. From other posters, it appears they DO have access to SOME medical records (I have had hip surgery), AND they called my home and my cell (not my wife's), so someone somewhere is either hacking into databases, or being fed numbers by a mole SOMEWHERE. I'm on medicare so it's possible that's how they had my numbers, but it could have been
1. a mole in my surgeon's billing offfice
2. a mole in my hospital's billing office.
3. A mole in my primary care Dr's billing office
4. A mole in my Physical therapy billing office.
5. a mole working in the medicare system
6. The ability to hack computer systems of ANY of the above.
ALL are equally possible.

As I've shown above, bob's political agenda is clouding his reasoning.
ANY entity that has my medical records, whether governmental, and MUCH MORE LIKELY, private can have employees that sell your numbers. I reasoned this because medicare does NOT have my cell number, but ALL my private providers DO have my cell number.
See how deductive logic works 'bob'?
It's never the entity itself ("the government", your private insurance carrier, whoever), it's PEOPLE who work for medical billers, Dr's offices, and yes, even medicare employees, ALL of whom have access to my records, and any bad person working there could have motive to break the law (selling private numbers for $$'s is illegal).
'Bob' needs to put his governmental conspiracy theories to rest unless he doesn't want medicare for himself, ever.
Also 'bob', the ACA (so-called "Obamacare") simply connects people with PRIVATE INSURANCE, so maybe he can REDIRECT this particular conspiracy theory... it's much more likely it's a private 'actor' or entity doing this.
This particular number scammer has given me new info to check out, since I recently started treatment at a new Physical Therapy place AND recently gave my cell number as a contact. That only rules out my surgeon, since the surgery was 4 years ago, but Y'all see what I'm suggesting as possibilities.
All I can do is block the number AND have a talk with all the others above about their security measures and HOW THEY MONITOR THEIR EMPLOYEES.

He said his name, but could not make it out... heavy foreign accent, lots of background noise. Said he was with US Medical Care and was calling me to see if I was eligible for medical compensation. Of course, it took lots of questions from me to get him to divulge that little bit of information. He kept asking if I'd ever had any surgeries.
I answered no questions, as I suspect it is a total scam. He gave me the same number that was on the caller ID as a call back number. I tried the number, "your call can not be completed as dialed, please check the number and try again" recording.
I'm in Texas. Caller ID shows unknown name. I never answer these type of calls. Sometimes I get 4 in one day. Other times it can be a few days before they start up again and each time from different numbers and locations. There are occasions where I receive a call in the morning and one in the afternoon from the same number. Like I said, I never answer. Considering getting one of those machines that block numbers.
