Asked about my "medical compensation" from my previous surgery, and then asked if I had had surgery. I asked 3 times "why are you calling me?" He kept repeating, in barely discernible English, the same thing. He asked if I had a hip replacement which I figured he should know if he is legit. I told him if he needed to get in touch with me to send me a liter. I am posting on the do not call registry as a complaint.
CID shows 'Wantagh NY'. No msg left. I never answer calls fromnumbers I don't know, but I have been receiving an average of 6-12 calls a day from various numbers. I check the web for info on them and everyone one of them has complaints of this nature or info regarding telemarketing scams and the like. This needs to STOP!!!
Got two scam calls today, one from this number and one from a different one. Didn't recognize the numbers so didn't answer. They left no message.
The other number that called me also called my son's phone immediately after I ignored their call. Our numbers are on the same bill but aren't close numerically. This is the second time this has happened in a week. Makes me wonder if my cell provider is selling my phone numbers.
Got the first call from this number today and knew it would be a telemarketing or scammer call but answered it as I was in the mood to throw their pitch right back at them.
Guy had heavy Indian accent, said his name was Jordan, with the "US Medical Company". Tried to get info on what he was peddling, but all I could understand what something about an alleged surgery (which I never had) and blood work (which I also never had).
Asked him for his last name and SS number so I could include him in my report on criminal activity. Told him I wanted to be sure that he'd get attention for calling someone on a Do Not Call list and needed to know his personal details so he could be cited with criminal activity. There was an pause and then he hung up.
I've found that asking them for personal ID such as SS number stops them dead in their tracks.
Probable spammer/criminal activity. spoof number. real person w/indian accent that came on about 6 seconds after i picked up. They called asked for someone by name and hung up when i told them person not here.
