Just got a call from this number saying he was from the US Medical or something. Asked about my bladder mesh surgery--which I never had, then asked about hip surgery--I never had, then asked if I've taken any of a list of medicines- one being Actos-which I have taken-then he asked about my bladder cancer--which I don't have. He also asked if I had any family members that have had lung cancer. It sounds like he was doing a lot of "fishing". I gave short no answers most of the time. Heavy Indian accent. Definitely a scam, otherwise he would have known exactly what I have and have not had. Sounds just like the calls asking about my computer. Do not answer these calls. I answer only to find out what they want so they will quit calling.
I also received this call this evening after I gotten home from work. He had a heavy Indian accent and called me by my first name. I could not understand much after that except surgery. I asked him why he needed to know at which time he hung up. I am a RN and I was going to give him some medical lingo back to see if he could answer. I am going to find out who to report this to in the government either federal or state.
Received a call from this number (though it was listed on caller ID as 2-516-366-5522). ID came up as Name Not Found. I just picked up and immediately hung up as my wife is still asleep. I have blocked all the consistent numbers like this through my digital voice system (now out of room). i too receive calls from an apparent Indian call center, but the message is about "errors in my Microsoft operating system which shows up on their monitors. These calls are all from someone with a thichk South Asian accent (sounds Indian). I jsut tell them my o/s is working fine and that I don't want any more calls from them. Obviously these are trolls who are looking for someone who will be gullible enough to provide personal info that they can exploit. Interestingly after receiving the earlier call from NY, I just received another (different area code) telling me I had been approved for a medical alert system at no cost. Just told then to take me off the call list and stop calling (for what good this will do). Most of these calls are from spoofed numbers that are not active or no longer listed. Not sur how the crooks get around the phone systems but this is what the FTC needs to work on.
Calls like this I don't answer. I don't know anyone in Wantagh, NY; and I certainly didn't recognize the number. Don't waste you time on the registry. I tried that years ago; and still get these calls. These guys just keep changing numbers; so there's no point in spending even a second on this trash. Just don't answer the call if you don't recognize the number; unless your expecting a call. You can always check the number from called I.D. on line; or just forget about it. Your friends and family know how to get a hold of you. Don't let these people know there's a human being on the other end of your number.
Best way to stop calls is to block the numbers. Pressure government to require all phone companies to allow free unlimited call block, since the do not call list doesn't seem to be helping.
